Jennifer Aniston, whose original surname is Anastassakis, came into the
world on the 11th of February 1969 in Sherman Oaks, California. She is
the daughter of actor Victor Kiriakis who participates in the soap opera
Days of Our Lives. When she is a child, her family moves to Greece, but
a divorce takes place when she is just 9 and Jennifer has to go back to
America, settling to live in New York City with her mother.
At high school Aniston is a member of a drama club, which drives her
decision to embark on the career of an actress. She also hides an
affinity for drawing. After graduating from New York's High School of
Performing Arts in 1987, Jennifer begins working at
For Dear Life and Dancing on Checker's Grave. In 1989 she gets her first
role on TV. Aniston takes part in Molloy, despite the reluctance of her
father as regards her career path choice.
In 1994 she starts appearing in Friends. Initially, Jennifer is assigned
to the role of Monica Gellar, but she claims that Rachel Green's role
will suit her best. And she appears to be pretty right. The role of
Monica is consequently given to Courteney Cox.
While making Friends Like Us, she also takes part in the show Muddling
Through.
Friends turns into a great hit from NBC's "Must-See TV" lineup, and the
six participants become the stars of the day.
In 1996 Jennifer also appears in the movie She's the One. A year later
she partners Kevin Bacon in Picture Perfect. In 1998 Aniston plays the
leading role in The Object of My Affection and The Thin Pink Line, and
gives her voice for The Iron Giant in 1999.
As to her sphere of intimacy, she goes through close relationships with
Counting Crows' vocal Adam Duritz and actor Tate Donovan. However, her
relationship with Brad Pitt makes them the supreme couple of Hollywood.
In 2000 they enter a grandiose engagement, qualified as "the showbiz
wedding of the year."
In 2001 she gets back to the shooting stage in Rock Star. In 2003
Jennifer partners Jim Carrey in Bruce Almighty. she
receives 2 Emmy awards and a Golden Globe for her Rachel performance.
