Molly Sims, the ultimate all-American girl-next-door, was born on May 25, 1973, in Murray, Kentucky, to Jim and Dottie Sims. She swam competitively for 10 years while growing up. After high school, Molly attended Vanderbilt University with hopes of becoming a lawyer. She joined Delta Delta Delta and lived the college life. Two years into her degree, at the suggestion of her roommate, she submitted a few photographs of herself to a number of agencies in Manhattan. When Molly received a call from NEXT Models, she signed with them and left college in 1993 to pursue a modeling career.
Molly appeared in Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit edition for a staggering five years out of seven—in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2006. In the 2006 issue, she was photographed wearing a Susan Rosen bikini made of diamonds and worth $30 million.
Molly fully supports Friends of El Faro, a grassroots nonprofit that helps raise money for Casa Hogar Sion, an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. She has hosted the organization’s last two fundraisers and visits the orphanage regularly.
