Kate Middleton she’s won the right to don a $75,000 Cartier necklace

Kate Middleton is known for recycling her clothes on more than a few occasions so we think she’s won the right to don a $75,000 Cartier necklace if she wants to. The necklace, rumoured to be part of her personal collection, is made from white and yellow gold and, with its five rings (capped with a large one at its pendant), goes so well with that blue Stella McCartney stretch dress, (now completely sold out), does it not?
It was also a fitting piece for the event - a private showing of Road to 2012: Aiming High exhibition, featuring photos of athletes and those working to “make the London  2012 Olympic and Paraympic Games happen.” The Duchess, you’ll recall, is the official ambassador of the London Games so it all makes sense.
The only, well, slight problem we have with the necklace is that it just doesn’t look like it cost that much. $75,000? Really? We like our royals to be dashing, snobby and terribly ostentatious and well, Duchess, it seems that you’re not really fulfilling our needs here. Still, she does look superb. As you were.
