New York born (December 19, 1972) and raised, Alyssa Milano began her acting career
in 1980 at an open audition for the first national tour of Annie.
After months on the road, she was back in New York on off-Broadway,
and later in television commercials.
She was all of ten years old when, in 1983, she landed her breakthrough role on the sitcom Who's the Boss? as Tony Danza's daughter Samantha Micelli, and literally grew up before the world in an acting stint that lasted some eight years.
Alyssa teamed with Spelling Television to play Jennifer Mancini on Melrose Place, and then, in one of her more succesful TV starring vehicles began an eight-year run as Phoebe Halliwell in the WB hit, Charmed in 1998.
