Hollywood star Julianne Moore

One of Hollywood's most famous redheads, Julianne Moore was born in Fayetteville, NC, on December 3, 1961. Graduating from Boston University, she began her acting career in soap operas, winning an Daytime Emmy Award in 1988 for her performance in As the World Turns.

Her inauspicious film debut came a couple of years later in Tales From the Darkside: The Movie and afterwards Moore survived several made- for-TV movies before taking on increasingly notable film roles in The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, the thriller Body of Evidence, and a cameo in the smash hit The Fugitive.

As her Hollywood star continues to rise, Moore has most recently appeared opposite Pierce Brosnan in the romantic comedy The Laws of Attraction and alongside Gary Senise in The Forgotten.
