Naomi
Watts, most famous for playing the damsel in distress in a spectacular
remake of King Kong, was born on September 28, 1968 in
Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, England.
Watts
later grew up in Northern Wales when her "hippie" parents
decided to pack up and move the family to Sydney, Australia when
Naomi was 14.
Her early
career in television commercials led to her big break on the hit
Australian series Home and Away in 1988 and a few years
later notably appeared on the big screen as Jet Girl in the otherwise
lackluster Tank Girl released in 1995.Along with taking on the original Fay Wray role in the 2005 remake of King Kong by director Peter Jackson, Watts' film credits also include a highly acclaimed performance in 21 Grams alongside Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro for which she received an Oscar Award nomination in 2004.
In 2006, she stars in The Painted Veil opposite real-life beau, actor Liev Schreiber.
