Sarah Jessica Parker was born on 25 March 1965 in Nelsonville, Ohio. The
young Sarah Jessica learned how to sing and dance and soon became a
professional performer.
Trained and ballet, Sarah was cast in the Broadway production of The
Innocents , which prompted her family to relocate to New Jersey. Already
a professional performer, Sarah was cast in The Sound of
Music, and landed the lead in the Broadway run of Annie . She attended
the Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood. Until 1982, when she was
given a role in the film Square Pegs, Sarah had played minor roles. It
was then that she decided to move to Hollywood High. After graduation
Sarah decided to dedicate her time to acting instead of going to
college. At that time she played supporting roles mostly. Sarah appeared
in a couple of serials, which launched her career. Sarah's star has
shot up since her portrayal of Manhattan sex-columnist Carrie Bradshaw
in Sex and the City . Sarah's Golden Globe Best Actress victory in 2000
only underscores the fact that she plays the role of Carrie as though
it were literally written for her. She dated the actor Robert Downey
for a couple of years. After their relationship broke up Sarah had an
affair with John Kennedy Jr, but she soon fell in love with Matthew
Broderick. In 1991 Sarah starred in Steve Martin's L.A. Story. She began
to partner on the screen with stars such as Bruce Willis and Bette
Midler. For her role in the famous serial Sex And The City she won a
Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress.
