The Vikings, who had recently traded for Moss, bringing him back to
Minneapolis from the New England Patriots, waived the Pro-Bowl Wide
Receiver today. Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network broke the news
tweeting, “Childress told the team in a meeting they waived Moss as Moss
did not go back with the team to Minnesota. Moss was not in the
meeting.”
Randy’s agent, Joel Segal, had this to say late today, following the announcement of the waiver, “Randy is very sad to find out about being waived by the Vikings this morning. He has and always will remain fond of the fans in Minnesota. We will let the process of the waiver wire take its course and we will move on from there.”
her NFL team could claim Moss, pick up the final year of a contract ($6.4 Million in base pay). The Winless Buffalo Bills have the first opportunity to claim Moss, followed by Carolina and Dallas. If no team claims him, the Vikings owe Moss the remaining $3.888 million on his deal. He’d be available for around $450,000 and Moss could choose the team he would like to join.
I think the bigger problem is Brett Favre….but let’s not blame the “star” player.
