The 58th Annual Miss Universe Competition will air live from the beautiful Atlantis, Paradise Island resort of the Bahamas on Sunday, August 23 at 9 PM ET on NBC and Telemundo.
Superstar artists Flo Rida, Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland will perform at the Pageant. Billy Bush, co-anchor of "Access Hollywood" and Claudia Jordan of "Celebrity Apprentice" and "Deal or No Deal," will host the extravaganza.
Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela will crown her successor at the conclusion of the telecast. During her reign, she has traveled all over the world as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation.
Miss North Carolina USA Kristen Dalton beat out 50 other beauty queens to be crowned Miss USA 2009 earlier this year. "It feels really natural," Dalton said of her Miss USA win. "I've worked so be here and this has been my lifelong dream and it's finally here."
Now Dalton will compete against over 80 women from around the world to become Miss Universe 2009. The 22-year-old, who graduated from Hoggard High School and studied psychology and Spanish at East Carolina University, is an aspiring motivational speaker and entertainer from Wilmington. She is part of a family dynasty of hot women who win beauty pageants, she is the daughter of Jeannie Boger who was Miss North Carolina USA 1982 and her younger sister was Miss North Carolina Teen USA, 2008. Kristen's Hobbies include singing, acting, dancing, public speaking and sports.
